Best Growth Brands 2018 #3 DOVE

The third place in the Best Growth Brands ranking goes to the body care sector, more specifically to Dove. The brand mainly became famous in the Noughties, thanks to its advertising, which highlighted the beauty and diversity of women’s bodies. “This marketing campaign firmly established the notoriety and personality of this Unilever brand. It was a stroke of genius, which had a tremendously positive impact on Dove at the time”, says GfK.
In 2017, Dove was ranked 110th in the overall ranking of Best Product Brands. It came fifth in its industry, after Nivea, Gillette, Pampers and Oral B. But more importantly, Dove is the brand that made the strongest progress on the relational level: “In 2016, four out of ten people confirmed that they felt a strong kinship with the brand. Three out of ten even considered Dove to be their best friend. This astonishing result demonstrates consumers’ attachment to the brand, whose advertising appeals to everyone.”
